The Assistant Professor will facilitate the Head of the Department to manage and supervise the clinical/academic activities of the department and patient care. He /She will assign/delegate duties to the Senior Registrars / Registrar staff for the smooth functioning of the department regarding patient care, teaching, and training of the students. He / She will manage, supervise, and train PGs/ MOs/ HOs and other paramedical staff.

1. He /She will also coordinate and collaborate with hospital administration to ensure quality education to students and health services to the patients.
2. To arrange and give for students of MBBS / BDS Lectures/Seminars/Clinical & Practical skills small group discussions, Evaluation and Assessments according to curriculum.
3. To facilitate the Postgraduate trainees (FCPS and DCPS) for Clinical Presentation, Small Group Discussion, case-based & problem-based teaching, Journal Club, Teaching Psychomotor skills, and preparation for inter-module examination and dissertation.
4. To assist the Head of Department / Professor for organizing CPC/ clinical meetings and conferences in collaboration with other professional organizations.
5. To Coordinate and facilitate faculty members and Postgraduate trainees in the area of research and development through continuous education and learning environment and facilitate their publications requirements as part of career development research activities of the department.
6. To convey the knowledge for basic management of common problems of patient care, e.g. emergency treatment, management of emergencies and decision for appropriate treatment to develop clinical and practical skills of students.
7. To assist and facilitate the Head of the Department in conducting examinations of MBBS/ BDS.
8. To ensure regular OPD sessions for continuing medical care and manage/supervise new patients referred for specialist advice.
9. To ensure regular clinical rounds of ward to manage /supervise the progress and care of the indoor patients.
10. To conduct medical procedures in ward under the supervision of senior consultants and develop proper monitoring mechanisms to ensure that all recommended diagnostics and investigations are carried out.
11. To Provide specialist advice on medical problems of patients referred from other departments.
12. To asses patients in the emergency department if required for consultancy.
13. To ensure on-call commitments after regular duty hours to provide cover to the critical patients round the clock.
14. To assist the Head of Department / Professor in departmental confidential enquires of mortalities
15. To manage, supervise and train PGs/ MOs/ HOs and other paramedical staff to ensure the delivery of quality health services to the patient’s and enhance patient management skills of the staff.
16. To prepare and monitor duty Rota of the department including paramedical staff and managing and resolving staff management and placement issues.
17. To maintain close liaison with hospital administration to ensure proper ward management including patient clinical records and routine matters related to demand and supply and complaints.
